200 at Last ...
I do not remember how or when Sachin caught my imagination. But at some point of time he did, and I have admired him ever since. The man with boyish looks who was in love with a girl 4 years over-age and who is boyish even on field i.e., one of the most respected gentlemen of the game.
I remember the days which are now part of Legend a.k.a folklore when the whole nation would have their tvs on to see just one man produce a magnificent innings and steer the time to victory. Be it a chase or setting up the score while batting first, there was one man the whole Indian team looked up to.
Nothing fazed the Indians in their quest to see this young lad bring the cricketing records tumbling down. They only seemed to want more. Again and again. They wanted this prodigy to break every cricketing record held by an individual. It was this gr8 nation’s only desire for there was none at the time who could be called sheer genius in any form of the sport or game or even if they were they did not catch the imagination of the nation. There was only this kid/ boy/ young man from Bombay.
When Saeed Anwar hit 194 that fateful day in Chennai, I have longed for the beloved Tendiya to hit 200s and every time he reached 175 after that my eyes would simply widen waiting to see him cross that mark, the 194, the barrier , the 200 mark.
But, when India reached its nadir under Mr. Chappell in 2007, and Sachin had become a easy object to direct people’s ire thanks to his advertisement endorsements, it was difficult to accept that he had to go. But I think many Sachin fans were the objects of ire at this time. Yet, there are many who stuck to their predicament quite adamantly saying he should continue and none should talk badly of this genius. They simply seemed irrational.
The man simply was asking for patience and trust. He seemed to believe that he could do it. He seemed to say that the best is yet to come. And yet many were unsure. After all he is too old now.
And then came the 175. And epic of sorts, and then people seemed to re-live the legend again. The legend is back they believed. Surely he would cross 200 this time!! But Alas, they might have been looking for the impossible, or so they thought.
And at last their hopes and dreams, their desire for the man to cross that barrier came true on this 24th February 2010 at about – not sure the time. But it did come, and with it, it brought the nation / office/ people to one platform again. It told them that their dreams and hopes for the man were not false dreams. It taught them that he is indeed a genius and does not deserve a tinge of disrespect. It taught them that he is not just an asset, he is a priced possession, his value in-comparable, his cricketing prowess – God’s masterpiece!

తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమం
(నా హృదయ భారాన్ని వెలిబుచ్చడానికి నేను వ్రాసిన ఒక article ఇది)

తెలంగాణం
వికిపెడియా ప్రకారం "తెలంగాణ" అంటే "ది ల్యాండ్ అఫ్ ది telugus" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telangana) అనగా "తెలుగు వారు నివసించే ప్రదేశము/స్థానము."
తెలంగాణ ఇతిహాసం
History ప్రకారము ఈ ప్రాంతమున ముఖ్య పట్టణము ఏకశిలా నగరమైన ఓరుగల్లు (ఈనాటి వరంగల్లు పట్టణం). ఓరుగల్లు కాకతీయ సామ్రాజ్య (1083 CE to 1323 CE) రాజధాని. 1323 వ సంవత్సరములో ఓరుగల్లు ఢిల్లీ sultanate లో భాగముగా మారింది. ఆ తరువాత మునుసూరి నాయకులు ఆ ప్రాంతాన్నిముస్లింల ఏలుబడి నుంచి విడిపించి యాభై సంవత్సరాలు పాలించారు. ఆ తరువాత నాయకులు తమ ఐక్యాన్నికొనసాగించలేక పోవడముతో బహమనీ రాజుల పాలనలోకి వచ్చింది. ఆ తరువాత విజయనగర సామ్రాజ్యము, మొగలులు, ఖుతుబ్ షాహిలు మొదలైన వారు పాలించారు. భారత దేశము బ్రిటీషు వారి నుండి విడుదల పొందినపుడు ఈ ప్రాంతాన్ని హైదరాబాద్ నిజాము పాలించేవాడు. "హైదరాబాదు పోలీసు ఆక్షన్" లేదా "ఆపరేషన్ పోలో" ద్వారా భారత ప్రభుత్వము నిజాం పాలన నుండి విడిపించింది. 1956 లో హైదరాబాదు princely state లోని తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతమును మద్రాసు ప్రావిన్సు లోని తెలుగు మాట్లాడు జిల్లాలను (అప్పటికే అనగా 1953 లో వీటిని మద్రాసు ప్రావిన్సు నుండి విడదీయబడి ఆంధ్ర రాష్ట్రముగ పేర్కొనబడుచున్నవి)కలపడముతో "State Reorganization Act " ద్వారా ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రము అవతరించింది. ఈ ఆర్టికల్ వ్రాయు సమయమున తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతము ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రములో ఒక భాగముగా ఉన్నది.
తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమం + నా అభిప్రాయము
నేను ఈ ఆర్టికల్ వ్రాస్తూండగా "తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రీయ సమితి" అధ్యక్షుడైన కే. చంద్ర శేఖర రావు (in short కెసిఆర్ or KCR) "తెలంగాణ" ప్రత్యెక రాష్ట్రము కొరకు ఆమరణ నిరాహార దీక్ష చేయుచున్నారు. ఇదే తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమముగా పేర్కొనబడుచున్నది. ఈయన ప్రకారము తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమము యాభై సంవత్సరాలు వయస్సు కలది. ఇది కొంత వరకు వాస్తవమే!
తెలంగాణాను ఆంధ్ర రాష్ట్రమును కలుపుటకు State Reorganization Commission ఈ క్రింద చెప్పబడిన విషయాలను వ్యక్త పరచినది -
"..opinion in Andhra is overwhelmingly in favour of the larger unit, public opinion in Telangana has still to crystallize itself. Important leaders of public opinion in Andhra themselves seem to appreciate that the unification of Telangana with Andhra, though desirable, should be based on a voluntary and willing association of the people and that it is primarily for the people of Telangana to take a decision about their future..." మరియు "After taking all these factors into consideration we have come to the conclusions that it will be in the interests of Andhra as well as Telangana area is to constitute into a separate State, which may be known as the Hyderabad State with provision for its unification with Andhra after the general elections likely to be held in or about 1961 if by a two thirds majority the legislature of the residency Hyderabad State expresses itself in favor of such unification." ఈ అభిప్రాయ శారాంసము -
౧. అప్పటికి ఇంకా తెలంగాణ లో ఒక సరియయిన "consolidated" అభిప్రాయము ఏర్పడలేదు.
౨. కొంత కాలం వేచియుండి తెలంగాణ వారికి ఆ నిర్ణయం వదలాలి
అయినప్పటికీ తెలంగాణాను ఆంధ్ర రాష్ట్రములో కలిపి ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ ను సృష్టించారు . దీనికి కారణం కాంగ్రెస్ లో కోస్తా ఆంధ్ర, రాయలసీమ నుండి ప్రతినిధులు ఉండటము మరియు తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతమునుండి లేకపోవటము. అంతే కాకుండా "Gentleman 's Agreement " అను ఒక ఒప్పందము కూడా కారణము. పైన చెప్ప బడిన విషయముల గురించి నా అభిప్రాయము -
౧. తెలంగాణ నుంచి సరియయిన ఏక నాయకత్వము లేక పోవుట.
౨. దేసమంతట కాంగ్రెస్ గురించి మంచి అభిప్రాయము ఉండుట
౩. తెలంగాణేతర ఆంధ్ర నుండి ఈ merger పట్ల బాగా మంచి అభిప్రాయం ఉండటము
౪. తెలంగాణ లో దీని పట్ల అంత వ్యతిరేకత లేక పోవడము
౫. "Gentleman's Agreement "
కారణములుగా నేను భావించుచున్నాను.
దీనిని బట్టి నా అభిప్రాయము ఏమిటంటే తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమము మొదట ఒక మైనారిటీ అభిప్రాయముగా ఉండెడిది. అంటే ఈ merger ను తెలంగాణ ప్రజలు మొత్తంగా ఆమోదించాలంటే "Gentleman's Agreement " యొక్క అమలు మీద ఎంతో ఆధారపడియున్నది. ప్రస్తుత తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమ ముఖ్య అభియోగమేమిటంటే "Gentleman's Agreement " అమలులో ఎన్నో అవకతవకలు ఉన్నాయి. తెలంగాణ వాసుల వాదనను/ అభియోగములు మరియు తెలంగాణేతర ఆంధ్రుల భయములు ఈ లింక్ (http://te.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%B0%A4%E0%B1%86%E0%B0%B2%E0%B0%82%E0%B0%97%E0%B0%BE%E0%B0%A3 ) లో కొన్ని సమకూర్చబడినవి.

౧. కోస్తాంధ్ర ప్రజల భయములు - ఇక్కడ సూచించబడినవన్నీ కోస్తాంధ్ర వాసుల భయములే! కాని వాటి పట్ల వారికున్న భయముకంటే సమైఖ్యాంధ్ర పైన వారికున్న మక్కువ ఎక్కువ. ఇప్పటికీ కోస్తాంధ్ర లో అధిక పక్షము దీనిని సమర్ధిస్తారు.
౨. తెలంగాణ వాదుల వాదనలు - ఇక్కడ mention చేసిన percentages కరెక్ట్ , రాంగా అని వివరించ లేను కాని ఈ లింక్ (http://www.telangana.com/Irrigation/krishnaproj.htm అండ్ http://www.telangana.com/Irrigation/godavariproj.htm ) ఈ వాదనలకు ఆజ్యం పోస్తుంది. ఇక్కడ ఒక విషయం నేను ప్రస్తావించగోరుచున్నాను . నా ఉద్దేశము ప్రకారము ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వము చేసిన తప్పులు అధిక పక్షముగా రాజకీయ నాయకుల తప్పుడు నడతల వల్ల వచ్చినవే కాని కోస్తాంధ్రుల తప్పిదము కాదు. ఈ విషయములో తెలంగాణ రాజకీయ నాయకుల ఏమి "pariah"లు కాదు. వీరు తెలంగాణేతర రాజకీయ నాయకులంత నేరస్థులు. ఏట ప్రభుత్వమిచ్చు జీతమునే కాక "Constituency" అభివృద్ది సొమ్ము తింటూ ప్రజలను ఏకాకిగా చేసారు. కోస్తాంధ్ర రాజకీయ నాయకులు కూడా అదే విధముగా తింటూ ప్రజలను మోసము చేసారు. గోదావరి మరియు కృష్ణాల మీద నాగార్జున సాగర్ తరువాత ఎటువంటి పెద్ద ప్రాజెక్టు లేక పోవటమే దీనికి ఉదాహరణము. కోస్తాంధ్ర లో కూడా గోదావరి జిల్లాలు , కృష్ణా , గుంటూరు జిల్లాలు తప్ప మిగతా జిల్లాలు, రాయలసీమ జిల్లాలు కూడా వర్షాధార జిల్లాలు గాని సుసంపన్న జిల్లాలు కాదు. శ్రీకాకుళం, విజయనగరం, విశాఖపట్నం జిల్లాలు వీటికి మంచి ఉదాహరణలు. అయినప్పటికీ వీరు ఎప్పుడు ప్రత్యెక రాష్ట్రం కోర లేదు. (జయాంధ్ర మరియు జై ఉత్తరాంధ్ర ఉద్యమములు వచ్చినవి కాని వాటికి ప్రజల మధ్య స్పందన కొద్ది మాత్రమే!)
తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమ దిశ - నా అభిప్రాయము
ఈ నేపెధ్యములో ప్రత్యెక రాష్ట్ర సాధన నరియయిన సమాధానమా? నా ఉద్దేశములో ససేమిరా కాదు. ఎందుకంటే -
౧. తెలంగాణ తల్లి ఎవరో కాదు - తెలుగు తల్లే ! (మరి తెలంగాణ అంటే - తెలుగు వారు నివసించే ప్రదేశమే కదా!!)
౨. నిజమైయిన దుండగులు తెలంగాణేతర ఆంధ్రులు కాదు. కాని నిజముగా మన రాజకీయ నాయకులే పెద్ద దోపిడీ దారులు.
౩. ప్రోలనీడు "నాయకు"లను పశ్చిమ గోదావరి నించి ఇటు భువనగిరి వరకు కూడ గట్టి ఓరుగల్లును విడిపించాడు. ఈ "నాయకు"లలో కమ్మ వారు, రెడ్డిలు, వెలమలు ఉన్నారు. అనగా ఆంధ్ర దేశము అంతా సమైఖ్యంగా పోరాడి ఓరుగల్లును విడిపించారు. మరి ఇంతగా ప్రేమించే ఈ అన్నదమ్ములను విడనాడటము, వారిని వేరు చేయడము సబబా?
కాబట్టి మనము సమైఖ్యంగా పోరాడవలసిన మహమ్మారి - లంచగొండితనం, నియమ ఉల్లంఘన (lawlessness). మనము తక్షణము చేయవలసిన కర్తవ్యం - రాజకీయ నాయకులను జవాబుదారిగా చేయటము. మనము చీరవలసిన గమ్యము - సుసంపన్న ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశం.

౩. తెలంగాణేతర ఆంధ్ర నుండి ఈ merger పట్ల బాగా మంచి అభిప్రాయం ఉండటము
౪. తెలంగాణ లో దీని పట్ల అంత వ్యతిరేకత లేక పోవడము
౫. "Gentleman's Agreement "
కారణములుగా నేను భావించుచున్నాను.
దీనిని బట్టి నా అభిప్రాయము ఏమిటంటే తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమము మొదట ఒక మైనారిటీ అభిప్రాయముగా ఉండెడిది. అంటే ఈ merger ను తెలంగాణ ప్రజలు మొత్తంగా ఆమోదించాలంటే "Gentleman's Agreement " యొక్క అమలు మీద ఎంతో ఆధారపడియున్నది. ప్రస్తుత తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమ ముఖ్య అభియోగమేమిటంటే "Gentleman's Agreement " అమలులో ఎన్నో అవకతవకలు ఉన్నాయి. తెలంగాణ వాసుల వాదనను/ అభియోగములు మరియు తెలంగాణేతర ఆంధ్రుల భయములు ఈ లింక్ (http://te.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%B0%A4%E0%B1%86%E0%B0%B2%E0%B0%82%E0%B0%97%E0%B0%BE%E0%B0%A3 ) లో కొన్ని సమకూర్చబడినవి.
ఈ పట్టిక పై నా అభిప్రాయములు -
౧. కోస్తాంధ్ర ప్రజల భయములు - ఇక్కడ సూచించబడినవన్నీ కోస్తాంధ్ర వాసుల భయములే! కాని వాటి పట్ల వారికున్న భయముకంటే సమైఖ్యాంధ్ర పైన వారికున్న మక్కువ ఎక్కువ. ఇప్పటికీ కోస్తాంధ్ర లో అధిక పక్షము దీనిని సమర్ధిస్తారు.
౨. తెలంగాణ వాదుల వాదనలు - ఇక్కడ mention చేసిన percentages కరెక్ట్ , రాంగా అని వివరించ లేను కాని ఈ లింక్ (http://www.telangana.com/Irrigation/krishnaproj.htm అండ్ http://www.telangana.com/Irrigation/godavariproj.htm ) ఈ వాదనలకు ఆజ్యం పోస్తుంది. ఇక్కడ ఒక విషయం నేను ప్రస్తావించగోరుచున్నాను . నా ఉద్దేశము ప్రకారము ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వము చేసిన తప్పులు అధిక పక్షముగా రాజకీయ నాయకుల తప్పుడు నడతల వల్ల వచ్చినవే కాని కోస్తాంధ్రుల తప్పిదము కాదు. ఈ విషయములో తెలంగాణ రాజకీయ నాయకుల ఏమి "pariah"లు కాదు. వీరు తెలంగాణేతర రాజకీయ నాయకులంత నేరస్థులు. ఏట ప్రభుత్వమిచ్చు జీతమునే కాక "Constituency" అభివృద్ది సొమ్ము తింటూ ప్రజలను ఏకాకిగా చేసారు. కోస్తాంధ్ర రాజకీయ నాయకులు కూడా అదే విధముగా తింటూ ప్రజలను మోసము చేసారు. గోదావరి మరియు కృష్ణాల మీద నాగార్జున సాగర్ తరువాత ఎటువంటి పెద్ద ప్రాజెక్టు లేక పోవటమే దీనికి ఉదాహరణము. కోస్తాంధ్ర లో కూడా గోదావరి జిల్లాలు , కృష్ణా , గుంటూరు జిల్లాలు తప్ప మిగతా జిల్లాలు, రాయలసీమ జిల్లాలు కూడా వర్షాధార జిల్లాలు గాని సుసంపన్న జిల్లాలు కాదు. శ్రీకాకుళం, విజయనగరం, విశాఖపట్నం జిల్లాలు వీటికి మంచి ఉదాహరణలు. అయినప్పటికీ వీరు ఎప్పుడు ప్రత్యెక రాష్ట్రం కోర లేదు. (జయాంధ్ర మరియు జై ఉత్తరాంధ్ర ఉద్యమములు వచ్చినవి కాని వాటికి ప్రజల మధ్య స్పందన కొద్ది మాత్రమే!)
తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమ దిశ - నా అభిప్రాయము
ఈ నేపెధ్యములో ప్రత్యెక రాష్ట్ర సాధన నరియయిన సమాధానమా? నా ఉద్దేశములో ససేమిరా కాదు. ఎందుకంటే -
౧. తెలంగాణ తల్లి ఎవరో కాదు - తెలుగు తల్లే ! (మరి తెలంగాణ అంటే - తెలుగు వారు నివసించే ప్రదేశమే కదా!!)
౨. నిజమైయిన దుండగులు తెలంగాణేతర ఆంధ్రులు కాదు. కాని నిజముగా మన రాజకీయ నాయకులే పెద్ద దోపిడీ దారులు.
౩. ప్రోలనీడు "నాయకు"లను పశ్చిమ గోదావరి నించి ఇటు భువనగిరి వరకు కూడ గట్టి ఓరుగల్లును విడిపించాడు. ఈ "నాయకు"లలో కమ్మ వారు, రెడ్డిలు, వెలమలు ఉన్నారు. అనగా ఆంధ్ర దేశము అంతా సమైఖ్యంగా పోరాడి ఓరుగల్లును విడిపించారు. మరి ఇంతగా ప్రేమించే ఈ అన్నదమ్ములను విడనాడటము, వారిని వేరు చేయడము సబబా?
కాబట్టి మనము సమైఖ్యంగా పోరాడవలసిన మహమ్మారి - లంచగొండితనం, నియమ ఉల్లంఘన (lawlessness). మనము తక్షణము చేయవలసిన కర్తవ్యం - రాజకీయ నాయకులను జవాబుదారిగా చేయటము. మనము చీరవలసిన గమ్యము - సుసంపన్న ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశం.
